What is SHGC and why is it important in a commercial skylight?

SHGC is the measure of solar radiation emmitted through a skylight or window. The lower the SHGC the less solar heat is transmitted through the skylight or window. Having a lower SHGC can be beneficial for thermal reasons however VLT will be adversely impacted as well, making the skylight less effective at transmitting VLT. Consult your local Commercial Rep determine to optimal balance between SHGC and VLT for your project.
